About Me

@fdsig @fdsig @fdsig @fdsig @fridadesigley

I am an artificial intelligence practitioner and leader with expertise in deploying LLMs, training transformer-based vision and language models, working with edge devices. I currently lead the EMEA AI Technical Support team at Weights and Biases. This involves running both a team of AI technical support engineers and leading our efforts to build internal tooling to automate processes such

prioritising tickets, training Fine tuning LLM to triage tickets and develop RAG applications to automate responses to customer queries that do not require human intervention.

I have also spent a significant amount of time leading crisis response teams at the British Red Cross and the Scottish Refugee Council. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how to lead interdisciplinary teams, build trust with diverse stakeholders, and deliver results in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

I am passionate about making meaningful contributions to teams and organizations, adding value through technical expertise, and leading teams to solve complex challenges. I believe that building high-quality working relationships is fundamental to creating high-performing teams and fostering a sense of belonging and purpose in the workplace.

Outside of work, I am a white water kayaker, speed skater, and artist. I enjoy building home labs and servers, and have numerous personal projects running AI on edge devices.

For a detailed outline of my skills, expertise and experience, you can find a recent copy of my CV here as a PDF and as unstyled HTML or LATEX.
